Didn’t get what I wanted during the sales, so I’m still looking. Facebook Marketplace felt a bit sketchy. Should I try pawn shops, Best Buy outlet, or local audio shops? Will there be open box deals after Christmas?
I’m just trying to upgrade the factory 6.5” speakers and tweeters in my van. Thanks in advance!
I’m looking for something discounted. I almost bought the JBL Club 64csq for $130, but now they’re $202 on Amazon. I could spend more if it’s worth it, but since I’m keeping the stock head unit, maybe it doesn’t matter much.
@Fielder
Amazon and Best Buy had solid sales. I grabbed the JBL Club C for $109 on Amazon. If you’re keeping the stock head unit, look for something with low RMS and high sensitivity. The Kicker DSC or CS lines are good options and don’t need discounts to be affordable. Hopefully, you’ll see some Christmas sales pop up.
I might get flak for this, but I bought MB Quart FKB126 6.5-inch speakers on Amazon for my daughter’s car. Two pairs were only $63, and they sound decent. I know MB Quart isn’t what it used to be, but for the price, I’m happy with them.
I’ve had good experiences with Sonicelectronix.com. Dayton Audio from Parts Express is also a great option if you’re looking for quality without breaking the bank.
You can find 6.5 coaxial speakers that sound better than factory ones without spending over $100. Amazon, Crutchfield, Best Buy, or even Walmart are good places to start.
Brands like Sony, Pioneer, JVC, or JBL make affordable coaxial speakers. Compared to the paper-cone factory speakers most cars come with, even budget options will sound better.
