What do you think of my first amp rack?

I’m not too happy with it. The distribution block is nice, and I don’t mind the board itself, but the layout feels too cramped, especially with the wiring. Without moving the amps or the distribution blocks, does anyone have suggestions on how to make it look cleaner? I know a couple of wires have exposed metal—it’s just because I stripped them too long, but they’re still tight, and I plan to shrink-wrap them soon.

Picture is in the comments since I couldn’t add it here.

@Arden
Can you show the bottom?

Honestly, it looks fine. Unless you’re planning to show it off at car shows, you’re probably the only one who’s going to see it. I did a clean setup on mine, but it’s hidden under the box. It doesn’t change how it sounds or performs; it’s just for looks. If you care a lot about that, maybe try a different layout, but it’s not bad as it is.

Looks awesome! :muscle::fire:

You could use some zip ties to tidy things up a bit.

I’ve got some! Just waiting until I get my JL Audio power, ground, remote, and speaker wires before I finish everything :muscle::fire:.

I’m planning to get two more JL Audio 10W3v3-4 subs soon to add to the two I already have :muscle::fire:.

One of my earlier setups had a hinge on the rack so it folded up vertically, and I covered the bottom with matching carpet. I can’t find the picture, though—it was back in the late ’90s.

It does look a little cramped. If you could use a bigger board and move the distribution block to one side, you’d have room to run all the amp wires side by side. Another option is to cut openings in the board in front of the terminals and distribution block, then run the wires underneath so they come up right at the connections.

@Nyle
That sounds like a good idea, but honestly, it’s working fine as is, and I’m tired of tweaking it. Maybe I’ll try cutting holes and running wires under the board if I get bored down the line.
