Hard to say from the photo. Is it melted?
How the heck did you make it bend and squeeze that much, dude?
No. Wires melt rather evenly when heated. Furthermore, the center of a wire that you are displaying has no cause to heat up unless it is broken exactly there. These locations are often found where the crimp connection is established at the ends of the wire.
It seems to be some muck.
Cable seems crushed rather than hot. may have caused a fire if the insulation had been broken, but you might be okay. You can determine the reason and take precautions to ensure that it doesn’t occur again.
It’s definitely pinched. Take note of how thin it is to the right of the grease. Make sure the insulation is intact, tidy it up, and improve its sleeping area.
No it doesn’t but I certainly hope you fused it under the hood at battery.
Is the cable there your ground? If so, the cause is usually corrosion from the copper oxidizing due to current escaping from the ground wire to your frame rather than a burn. There’s a strong likelihood that your battery pack is on fire if that’s the case.
Looks like grease, get a wipe and see if you can clean it
This guy knows what’s up!!!
