Indeed, you can, and it’s a less costly choice. In fact, if you wound, using 4/0 AWG would be ideal, since audio wire is often somewhat more flexible and has a brand name attached to it, making it more expensive.

Yes. I’ve had 0/2 in my solara and escape for years now.

Unless there’s a bargain, I pretty much always use welding wire.

The 0/2 welding wire I have in my Xterra isn’t as flexible as real car audio wire, but it’s still manageable.

Guaranteed to be OFC if im not mistaken, they cant use the cheap stuff.

If it’s copper and the insulation has the necessary temperature rating then it’s fine. It may be a bit less flexible than some “car audio” wire but not usually so much so that it’s problematic.

I’ve done it successfully in the past. The only thing to note is that the material I discovered wasn’t as flexible as the stinger wire I use the most.
