I’ve got a quick question that might sound a bit silly. Is it possible to take the 4 RCA outputs from my head unit and combine them into 2 RCA inputs for an EQ (I’m using the Skar SKA7EQ)?
I know it’s normal to just use the front or rear 2 channels from the head unit for this, but I’m wondering if combining all 4 channels into 2 is an option.
You technically can use RCA Y splitters to combine the 4 outputs into 2 inputs, but it’s not a good idea. Just stick to using the front two outputs. It’ll save you some trouble.

Got it, thanks! Does combining 4 into 2 cause any weird problems with the signal or voltage, or is it just unnecessary?

It can cause issues like interference between the signals from the front and rear channels. Honestly, there’s no real benefit to doing it. If you’re curious, you can try it since Y splitters are cheap, but it’s not worth it in the long run.
You really shouldn’t combine the signals without a proper mixer. Using a simple Y splitter can cause damage to your head unit’s outputs. The outputs can send signals into each other, and the mismatched impedance could stress the devices.
There are passive and active mixers available if you really need to do this, but honestly, there’s no reason to. Front and rear outputs carry the same signal, so you’re not gaining anything by combining them.
