What’s the best way to upgrade a GM Bose system?

I’m trying to replace the front and rear door speakers in my 2003 Silverado with the Bose system. I’m okay with spending some money but would like to keep it under $300 total. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

The Bose system runs at 2 ohms, so most aftermarket speakers will be 4 ohms, and maybe 3 ohms if you go with JBL. This means you’ll lose some volume. Your best bet might be to replace the front components and add an amp to get better sound overall.

Would it make more sense to stick with OEM replacements? I also have an aftermarket head unit (DMX7709S), if that matters. I’m new to all this, so any advice helps.

That does make a difference. With an aftermarket head unit, you can use an amp bypass harness and connect directly to the speakers. If you like how the OEM system sounds, sticking with it could be a good idea. Otherwise, this bypass setup will probably sound better.

Got it. I’ll look into that. Thanks so much for the help!
