I tried searching but can’t find much on this combo. I’m stuck between the three brands and can’t listen to them locally to compare. Which one would you choose? I’ll be running an amp with 100 RMS per channel. I like clear, crisp mids and highs. I’ll have components for the front and coaxials for the back, plus a single 15-inch sub in the trunk. I’m not a beginner, just looking to try something new.
If money wasn’t an issue, I’d go with Morel. The 5" mid with a 3" voice coil really stands out as exceptional.

That actually sounds like high moving mass and high inductance, though.
I’d recommend Focal, especially the PS165FXE. They’re great speakers that aren’t too expensive. Morel is good too, and Pioneer doesn’t have anything that competes with those brands.
Don’t forget about sound dampening, though, it’s crucial.
If you want clear and crisp sound, Morel’s a good choice. I’ve used the Tempos for accuracy, and if you’re on a budget, Maximos are solid. I posted a recording of the Maximos a while ago and replaced them with the Tempos, which are even better now.
If money wasn’t an issue, I’d pick Focal first, then Morel, and Pioneer last. I’d avoid Pioneer unless it’s a top-tier model. Anything lower like the TS-G or TS-A will be pretty bad with 100 RMS.
Focal is definitely my choice. Pioneer shouldn’t even be considered here.
I’ve used the old Pioneer TS-D1720C components, and they were amazing for the price. Sadly, they’re no longer made, and I’m not sure if anything else from Pioneer comes close. If you get a chance to demo them, definitely do.
Focal gives the most ‘crisp’ highs but can get too sharp if you don’t have a way to dial it back. I’d avoid Pioneer and go for Morel or Focal. If you don’t have a DSP, I’d go with Morel. Otherwise, Focal would work better.
