Need help with wiring a subwoofer box… what’s the best way?

Almost done building my subwoofer box but I’m stuck on how to handle the wiring terminal. I bought a cheap one, but now that I’m looking at it, there’s a small gap around the edges when installed. Should I seal it? If so, what’s the best way? Also, is this type of terminal even good? I feel like I might have wasted my time making sure the box is sealed if this thing leaks air.If anyone knows of a better terminal that fits a 2-inch hole, I’d appreciate a recommendation! If not, what’s the best way to connect the wires to the back? Thanks in advance!

Push cup terminals would be your best bet. You can use bare wire and solder it or crimp on quick disconnect terminals (not sure if they need to be male or female, but they just slide on the back). Another way is to unscrew the bolt, use a fork terminal on the wire, and then tighten it back down. Plenty of videos out there if you need a visual!

Good advice! Also, make sure you seal around the terminal with silicone. You want that box completely airtight, otherwise, you’ll lose sound quality.

Damn, that’s so obvious… why didn’t I think of that?! Solid tip!
