Looking for audiophile quality… need some advice!

I have a 2022 Ram 1500 Lonestar and I’m totally new to car audio. I need some help! I’m looking for a top-tier sound system that will sound amazing. A coworker of mine suggests starting with subs and then adding more if I want. Another friend mentioned that if I get the Best Buy subscription for a year, they’ll install everything and give me warranties, which sounds good to me. Here are my questions:

  1. I want an audiophile-quality sound system. What brands should I look at?
  2. If I start with subs and plan to do door speakers later, do I need a different type of amp?
  3. Are upgrading the door speakers worth it?
  4. Should I buy sound deadening materials? And if so, which ones?

My budget is around $2500. My coworker has installed a lot of systems and said he’d be happy to walk me through it, but I’ve just started doing my own research.

What’s your budget? Audiophile systems can get really expensive, and if you want top quality sound, installation costs can add up too. You definitely want to use sound deadening material to avoid rattles messing up your sound. You won’t get audiophile quality without replacing the speakers, though.

Ah, I forgot to mention that! My budget is around $2500.

I’m not sure about full-on audiophile quality, but for $2500, you can get a solid sounding system if you and your friend handle the installation. If you pay for installation, that’ll eat into your budget a lot. Proper installation is definitely not cheap.
