A Kicker CX1200 is going to be installed shortly.I was fortunate enough to get this wire at no cost and need it to power an Alpine Type R 12-inch. It’s almost the same thickness as zero gauge, maybe slightly thinner… No, I’m absolutely I just wanted to know if anybody had any bad experiences with utilizing wire that has so many tiny strands; I’m sure I’ll be OK. Many thanks ahead of time
Yes it will work, more than enough goodluck running the wire.
Welding wire is all I use. So absolutely
No. That cable is not going to cut it. For example, you’ll need a minimum of two hands, ideally with arms, and maybe some tools.
2/0 yes got damn I have 0 and homie is right, tough to hide behind panels, cant imagine this lmao
The wire is almost same. The only real difference between this and the majority of vehicle audio wiring, apart from price and versatility, is that some people will buy into the BS. Although a larger strand count aids flexibility, decent “car audio” wire is simply bigger, whereas substandard wire is smaller. Welding wire is the way to go if you’re not concerned about aesthetics; it’s also usually less expensive.
The fact that it is always as advertised and resistant to oil and grease is an additional perk when purchased from a reliable vendor.
It will but it’s super stiff and hard to rout in a car
Just right. At first, I was concerned about the strand count and how it might affect resistance or something; nevertheless, my concerns were unfounded. The gauge of the wire is the most crucial component; yet, my mind was not completely focused because I had just had lunch.
Holy cow! Although it may seem a little excessive for only 1200, it might be possible to fit it into a smaller gauge using a 1/4 gauge cap, hence eliminating the excess strands. only make sure the ground is of the same size.
My truck is using 1/0 welding cable for about 9 years now on my daily driver
