Illusion Audio 6.5's... Are they worth it?

I know the company is out of business now, but I heard that Illusion made some really good speakers. Never got to hear them though. Does anyone know if they are known for good sound quality? I found a good deal on them right now. Thanks for the help!

The Lucent series is their middle-range option, and they’re supposed to be excellent. I’ve never heard them personally, but there’s a lot of buzz about them on car audio forums. Even their Electra series is really good and budget-friendly (I have a 6.5 set of coaxials for rear fill).

Are you seeing that deal for $150 on Creative Audio? I’d grab them before they’re all gone.

If they’re super cheap, go for them. I remember you can find them on clearance for around $125-$150 on eBay.

Yeah, they’re about $150 everywhere new. I’m kind of thinking they might be too deep for my doors now that I’m looking at them closer.

You can get a spacer so they don’t go as deep, but they might stick out a little if you have enough space behind the door panel.

I know. I have to measure. I might have to cut out the molded speaker grill that’s part of the door panel and replace it with a new one if they stick out. I don’t want to mess up the panel, but maybe the replacement parts won’t be too expensive. I’ll look into it, lol.

Do you think they’re a good choice for sound quality? Or is there something better I can get for around the same price or just a bit more?
