How do I connect a LA490 600W amp to a 12-speaker system using a SKAR wiring kit?

I bought SKAR’s wiring kit, which came with a blue cable, a black cable, a smaller wire with a fuse, and a LA490 600w amp with what I think is a 12 speaker. To be honest, I have no idea how to do any of this!!!

Take the battery out of the car.

Connect the ring end of the blue wire to the battery +

Cut it about 1" from the battery, strip it a bit, and then attach the fuse holder (picture in clear box 1).

Run the rest of the blue line from the fuse box to where you want the amp to be.

Touch the ring of the black wire to a bolt on the frame. Find a movie on how to make a ground point and check to see if there are build logs for your car on any groups.

Blue is for amp + and black is for amp -/ground.

Connect RCA cables from the radio to the amp.

Use the thin wire that goes from the radio’s remote to the amp’s remote.

Connect the speaker line from the amp to the sub.

Watch a lesson on how to set gains.

Do well.

DO NOT USE DOOR JAMB WIRE!

There is a right way to run wires, and sometimes it’s simple. It’s not always true. It’s easy for a fire to start when guys run power wire between a door and the wall to get the wire where it needs to go. This is especially true when they don’t put a switch on the power wire within 18 inches of the battery positive lead.

I had to say this! To get power from the engine bay to the inside of the car, look for rubber that is already in the firewall. If you need to make a hole. Put a rubber plug in it.

To add to this, I use a pokey-probe tool to make the factory gromet hole just right. Making sure there aren’t any wires in the place I’m poking on either side. :+1:t3: Feel bad about door jamb wire runners.

Just find out how to connect the power to your amp for your car. There should be a lot of forms or even a movie on YouTube that show you how to do it.

There’s a lot to learn. I would find someone local who will help or let you watch. Not super hard but will take a few hours.

But to be honest, if you don’t know Jack, getting a good ground might ruin everything. If they’re willing to teach, it’s better to have someone else do it while you watch.

Run your power wire, but don’t connect it yet. Find a place for the sub and the amp. Make sure the amp has a good ground. I use seat belt nuts for mine. Make sure the power wire is fused close to the battery pull head unit. Find the subwoofer’s RJ45 port and connect the cables there. Then, run the cables to the amplifier. Make sure that the amp is wired to the remote so that it turns on at the same time as the radio. Connect the power and ground wires to your amp, then run speaker lines from the sub box to the amp. Tune gain, but keep in mind that gain is not the same as level. Once it’s set so that there is no distortion, don’t change it. To tune LPF, people set them to 80. I like them between 50 and 63. It’s pretty simple; I suggest you watch it on YouTube because I can only summarise it. You can find your exact car on YouTube, and people there can help you feed wires through fences or set up better wiring. Make sure you take the battery out first. I almost forgot :joy:

Not all seat belt bolts are good grounds my friend had a Cadillac like 2000s model and his seat bolts weren’t a good spot also make sure you take all paint off the area if you gotta question if you took all the paint off grind it down till you can literally polish it to a mirror finish lol :joy:
