I’m going to buy some nice new speakers for my car soon. I have some old Phoenix Gold tweeters and Kenwood mids right now. Both of them are old school sets. I want to know what names you guys think are the best for getting loud while still sounding good. The tweeters in the front are 3" and the ones in the back are 6x9. It’s also on my mind to change the dash to add some nice mids and put the tweeters in the a-pillar. I’m not sure yet. But, as I already said, what names do you guys suggest for good sound quality and volume? (Edit: I’ve heard great things about Alpine. Are they good?)
The Steven’s Audio SA6 component set is great if you want to go both ways and don’t mind spending a lot of money. Their tweeter and MB6 (lower model) sound great when I use them together. If you want to save money on component sets, I recommend Morel and JL Audio. If you can afford it, Audio Frog has great speakers. You can buy raw drivers from Madisound if you go active with a DSP. But if you want to buy a comp set, check out Crutchfield for well-reviewed items and to see what fits in your car and fits your price.
Okay, so I don’t know a lot about what some of that stuff means, like dsp or two way. Could you please explain that a little more for me? I know I sound stupid, but hey, we all start somewhere. thanks
Some people don’t like how bright they are, but I love Focal. I’ve had them in every car I’ve had, from the polyglass series to the k2 and now the kx3e.
Morel’s Tempo Integra Ultra for 6x9 is always a good choice. Very clear sound, and if you need it, deep bass.
gonna be swapping out my three 10” with two 12” subs so i could honestly care less about the lows. just want the loudness and clarity
