Trying to decide between 4 AWG OFC copper wire and 0 AWG CCA wire. Which one should I go for? Need it for a car setup.
Go with OFC, no question.
Always choose OFC. CCA is a waste of money, plus welding wire is flexible enough to run in a car with no issues.
No contest… never buy CCA wire. If you do, you’re just wasting money and will end up replacing it in a year or less.

That’s not true.
Always go with OFC. CCA gets hot and causes more voltage drop, especially over long runs. Plus, 4 AWG is easier to work with.

I just realized my setup has CCA wires… should I upgrade?
@Kai
No need. If the wire is thick enough for your setup, CCA will still work fine.

That’s wrong. If your wire is getting hot and dropping voltage, you need thicker wire, period. It’s not just about OFC vs CCA.
Something nobody’s mentioned yet… the actual wire gauge matters just as much. So much stuff on the market is mislabeled. Some brands sell ‘4 AWG’ wire that’s really 6 AWG.Double-check what you’re buying because companies love ripping people off.If you want reliable wire, Knukonceptz Kolossus is solid.
@Noel
Yeah, this has been happening for ages. Hard to trust some brands.
