This looks promising! Doing it yourself definitely saves money.

It does save money, but man, it can be so frustrating to figure out sometimes!

Honestly, I find audio installs really satisfying. When it’s done, you can immediately enjoy it—unlike other car jobs like fixing an axle.
@Skyler
Same here! I’m chasing the best sound I can afford. But I’m still in college, so I have to work with a small budget. Once I get a better job, I’ll upgrade properly.
Right now, my setup would be perfect if it weren’t for the noise issues. DIY projects can really test your patience. I’ve tried troubleshooting this noise problem in every way I can think of, but no luck yet. I’ve even shared the details in another post. This summer, I plan to take my car apart to figure it out once and for all.
@Blaine
What kind of noise are we talking about? Static or something else?

Yeah, it’s static and this high-pitched noise. It gets louder as I turn up the gain, but it doesn’t change with the engine speed. Super annoying!
Not sure about the parts you picked here. Seems like you overspent on some things, like the front speakers and that amp. Why go for sound quality with a cheap head unit that messes up the audio processing? I think you could’ve done way better.
@Skyler
Yeah, looking back, I get it. But these are parts I’ve bought over the last few years as I’ve learned more about audio.
When I started, I just wanted more bass without spending much. That’s why I ended up with a Chinese head unit, a basic Pioneer amp, and a cheap subwoofer. Honestly, the only reason I even replaced the factory head unit was because it stopped working.
As for the Kicker Key200.4, why do you think it’s a bad choice? I was drawn to it for the built-in DSP and tuning. Would love to hear your thoughts.
